Kvitova / Minnen
Kvitova had to save MPs before the 2nd set TB. She won the TB dramatically when the umpire came down to check a winner that was called out. (spoiler: It was in)

It is always a good time to mention the greatest stat in tennis. Kvitova played Minnen today. Let’s see if she’ll make the 2nd week this time.

Incredible comeback by Andujar: He came back from 2 sets down to beat Thiem.

It wasn’t all about Andujar though. Thiem hit this crazy shot before breaking Andujar at the start of the 5th.
Kusnetsova / Azarenka

In case anyone forget how long Azarenka and Kusnetsova have been playing tennis at the highest level.
Did not at all fully grasp that this is the first time that Azarenka lost a set against Kuznetsova in 12 years.
Kaman Collins is back

Vesnina won a singles match!!
Vesnina won her first match in singles since becoming a mother.
Osaka
Everyone is busy talking about Osaka off-court but on court she won her first R1 match against a good clay court player, Tig.

It was a really funny racquet smash.
Garín turned 25 today. The crowd serenaded him after his win.
The RG organizers gave a few of the women flowers because it’s mother’s day in France. Azarenka was one of them.
We’ve all missed the fans and it’s so great to see a loud crowd support the local player again. Moutet had a lot of support in his match against Djere. If you have time watch that 2nd set TB. It’s excellent entertainment.

Stef tried to come up with a caption. It took some thinking but he went with “own your force”.
Not so fun section
For the 2nd major in a row Dimitrov’s back gives out. He was up 2 sets and had 3 MPs. He could not close the match and ended up retiring in the 4th.
Moutet's fall definitely looked painful.
Hurkacz also lost from 2 sets up today joining Thiem and Dimitrov. He received treatment throughout the final set.
More injury sadness for Hurkacz
The final match of the day ended at 11:54 pm with Keys winning. Let’s hope the next days are shorter.
